This simple, yet multidimensional, Greek word expresses the carefree spirit, as well as the happiness, wholeness, and joy that embodies the soul of summer and the long days spent playing under the warm sun and swimming in the cool, salty sea.

This is exactly what Sun of a Beach founders Melina Pispa and Ellie Rountou experienced while traveling around the Greek islands as children. Overflowing with memories that stimulate all five senses―the scent of freshly cut tomatoes, lazy midday siestas, sticky hands from watermelon slices, the hypnotizing sounds of the cicadas, the cool shade of rock caves―, they decided to share their breathtaking “daydreams” with others across the globe by creating the quintessential summer item, the beach towel.

Founded in 2012, Sun of a Beach was birthed in the Mediterranean, but later found inspiration from faraway tropical destinations as well, where the beaches are playgrounds and the fun never ends. Determined to create a summer accessory that goes beyond fashion, all our collections reflect a lifestyle that celebrates relaxation, minimalism, travel, and art. Handmade and locally produced in Greece, every single Sun of a Beach item has multiple uses and reflects our love of design, and comfort, as well as our dedication to high-quality and community.
